Rosalind Myers is the President of the New United States of America, a former head of Militech and a former marine. She comes from a wealthy and powerful East Coast family. She is the second woman to lead the country and is preparing to run again. When her space plane is brought down over Dogtown, V is the only one who can get her out alive.
Biography
The Marine
Myers began her career in the Marine Corps. Her patriotism, courage and discipline brought quick promotion and caught the eye of Militech's leaders. She rose to the head of the corporation, but her zeal for reform made her more enemies than friends there. She resigned before her board could remove her and ran for President instead, and won.
The President
Myers ended her first term by starting the Unification War to bring the breakaway states back into the union. Despite help from Militech, she had to pull her troops out of California. The defeat did not hurt her popularity, and she won the following elections too. Those close to her say she misses her days in the marines. Many have tried to kill her, and some political groups would gain from her death.
Dogtown
Myers flies over California aboard Space Force One with Songbird when the plane is shot down and forced into Dogtown. Songbird reaches V through the Relic and asks the merc to save the President. V finds her in the wreckage and escorts her through the district to a hiding place, where they wait for help while BARGHEST hunts them. Myers then sends V to find Solomon Reed on an old analogue phone.
Personality
Myers presents herself as one of the people, though it may be part of the political act. She is cold-blooded when she needs to be and believes the ends justify the means. She smokes heavily, and those around her joke that the habit is the greatest danger to her life.
Relationships
Songbird is her most valuable agent and her right hand. Solomon Reed served her loyally, even after she ordered his death to secure a ceasefire with Arasaka. Kurt Hansen is the warlord who wants her as a prize.
Jobs
Myers is rescued in Hole in the Sky and protected in Spider and the Fly. In Lucretia My Reflection she sends V to find Solomon Reed.
