There Is A Light That Never Goes Out is the side job in which V rides with Joshua Stephenson, a convicted killer about to be crucified on braindance, on his last day out. It follows Sinnerman, starting the moment V gets into the NCPD car. Joshua visits the family of a man he killed and shares a last meal, while Rachel Casich of the braindance studio worries that V is putting doubts in his head.
Story
A Strange Job
Johnny loves situations like this. In the journal he sums it up: one man hires V to kill another, then the first man dies, and the second man hires V to go somewhere with him for who knows what. He tells V not to mess it up, because he wants to see how it ends.
In the NCPD car, with Officer Vasquez driving, Joshua tells V his story. He was sent to prison years ago for armed robbery, among other crimes, and he killed several people in cold blood without feeling anything. In prison, he had time to think, and he found faith.
The El-Ahmar House
At a house, a woman named Zuleikha El-Ahmar welcomes Joshua and V. Joshua killed her brother, Ruben. Instead of hating him, she began writing to him in prison and forgave him, as her Christian faith taught her. Joshua then explains the plan: Rachel's braindance studio will record his crucifixion. He hopes it will turn people to Christianity by showing how Jesus suffered for them. Before more can be said, Zuleikha's mother, Gloria, arrives. She has not forgiven Joshua, and orders him and V out.
PieZ
Back at the car, Rachel takes V aside. She thinks Joshua is mad, but his sincere belief makes for a better braindance, and she fears V's probing questions are making him doubt. At PieZ, a restaurant in Rancho Coronado, she has Vasquez take Joshua inside and offers V double Joshua's fee to walk away.
If V refuses, V joins Joshua and Rachel at the table and talks with them about the braindance and other things, until Rachel loses patience and storms out. Joshua says goodbye and leaves with Vasquez. Johnny appears with some thoughts of his own. A day later, Rachel calls V to the studio for the crucifixion, which continues in They Won't Go When I Go.

Choices
Rachel's Bribe
Taking Rachel's money ends V's part in the job. Rachel says goodbye to Joshua for V and later pays V. A Corpo V can talk her into a bigger cut. Refusing the money keeps V with Joshua to the end.
Joshua's Faith
V's answers to Joshua are quietly scored. Encouraging him and taking his story seriously leads to a successful braindance at the end of They Won't Go When I Go. Mocking him or calling it insane makes it fail. Avoid answers such as "still not buying it" or calling it insane.
V can also leave after talking with Zuleikha, which ends the job.
Rewards
Completing There Is A Light That Never Goes Out pays €$ 4,600 to 9,300 (dependent), 1,347 experience and 2,021 Street Cred.
The job pays experience and Street Cred, and eddies if Rachel's bribe is taken. If Joshua is killed here or in Sinnerman, his prison jumpsuit can be looted.
