Ancient Dragon Lansseax is a great boss in Elden Ring.
Ancient Dragon Lansseax is a four-winged ancient dragon who hunts the Altus Plateau. She first swoops down near the Abandoned Coffin and flies away once she loses a fifth of her health. The final fight takes place on the ridge near the Rampartside Path. Her red lightning can kill in a single hit, so the open field and Torrent are the best tools against her.
Lore
Lansseax has a grey body like weathered stone, with four great wings inlaid with gold. Her muzzle is short and flat, her eyes burn orange, and wisps of grey hair run along her back. She breathes fire and forms red lightning into glaives and spears.
Lansseax was the sister of Lichdragon Fortissax and had ties to the people of the Golden Order. It is said she took human form to speak with the knights as a priestess of the ancient dragon cult. Of all the knights, Vyke was the one she loved most.

Attacks
- Lansseax's Glaive: she rears up and forms a giant red lightning glaive, then slams it across the ground. Backing up and jumping or rolling over the sweep avoids it.
- Lightning spears from the air: she flies up and hurls red lightning bolts. Galloping on Torrent outpaces them.
- Fire breath: a sweeping blast of flame. Riding out of the cone avoids it.
- Stomps and claw swipes: close attacks around her legs. Staying near the rear legs and moving out after each hit avoids them.
- Landing slam: she crashes down after flying. Keeping distance while she is airborne avoids the impact.
Tactics
- Eat Lightningproof Dried Liver and Boiled Crab before the fight for extra protection.
- Fight on Torrent so it is easy to get in, hit, and ride out.
- Turn off camera lock-on, because locking onto her head or body is disorienting.
- Summon a ranged spirit such as Latenna far from the dragon and draw the dragon away from her.
- Watch for the red glaive forming and back off at once.
- Use pierce damage, because she takes extra damage from thrusting attacks.
- Avoid lightning damage, because she shrugs most of it off.
