The Shard Spiral is a Glintstone sorcery in Elden Ring. It is found in the Academy of Raya Lucaria, around the middle of a run.
Shard Spiral is a sorcery of the Karolos Conspectus, the most venerable of the academy, and the product of a failed attempt to create a new comet. It fires twin projectiles that spiral as they travel and keep flying through targets instead of bursting on contact, so they can hit large enemies many times over. Against dragons and other big foes it applies a constant stream of damage to both health and stance, but its slow travel and modest damage make it weaker against small enemies. In PvP its slow-moving shots pressure opponents at mid range and pair well with other projectiles. It suits sorcerers who regularly fight large bosses and dragons.
Effect
Fires twin projectiles that spiral as they travel and keep going through targets, hitting large enemies many times; it can be cast repeatedly and while moving, and charging increases damage. Each cast costs 14 FP and 28 stamina and takes up one memory slot.
How to Get Shard Spiral Guide
Shard Spiral joins Sorceress Sellen's stock for 8,000 runes after helping her defeat Witch-Hunter Jerren at the Raya Lucaria Grand Library. If Sellen dies before this point, it cannot be bought in that playthrough.
- Defeat the Mad Pumpkin Head in the Waypoint Ruins cellar and become Sorceress Sellen's apprentice.
- Find Primeval Sorcerer Azur beyond the Hermit Village on Mt. Gelmir, then return to Sellen and exhaust her dialogue.
- Defeat Starscourge Radahn, talk to Sellen, then travel to the Witchbane Ruins and accept Sellen's Primal Glintstone from her true body.
- Speak to Witch-Hunter Jerren at Redmane Castle, rest, then return to the Witchbane Ruins and speak to him there.
- In the Three Sisters, strike the ground in the ruins near Ranni's Rise to reveal a hidden staircase to a basement full of puppets.
- Pass through the illusory wall in the basement and insert the Primal Glintstone into the puppet that looks like Sellen.
- Defeat Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon, then use the gold summon sign outside the Raya Lucaria Grand Library and help Sellen defeat Witch-Hunter Jerren.
- Talk to Sellen inside the Grand Library, then buy Shard Spiral from her for 8,000 runes.
