The Ash of War: Royal Knight's Resolve is an Ash of War in Elden Ring that grants the Quality affinity and the Royal Knight's Resolve skill. It becomes available in the middle of a run.
Royal Knight's Resolve has the wielder hold the flat of the blade to the face and pledge their resolve, greatly powering up the next attack. The next blow that lands deals 80 percent more damage, and a critical hit is boosted by 35 percent, after which the buff fades. The buff lasts 10 seconds if no blow lands. It suits Strength builds with slow, heavy weapons that want one devastating hit.

It grants the Quality affinity and a Whetblade can switch it to Standard, Keen, Heavy, Fire, Flame Art, Lightning, Sacred, Magic, Cold, Poison, Blood or Occult. The skill costs 15 FP. How to Get Ash of War: Royal Knight's Resolve Guide
- Found on a corpse in an isolated room of Volcano Manor.
- From the Temple of Eiglay Site of Grace, ride the elevator up to the upper level of the manor, head northwest past the Man-Serpents into the throne room, climb two sets of stairs and unlock the Imp Statue door with two Stonesword Keys.
- Descend the room of hanging cages to the bottom and take the doorway in the northeastern wall to reach the corpse.
- Once obtained, it can be duplicated by trading Lost Ashes of War to Smithing Master Hewg at the Roundtable Hold.

Skill
The buff is best spent on the strongest single hit available, such as a charged heavy attack, a jump attack or a riposte after a stance break. Because it fades after one hit, fast multi-hit attacks waste most of its value. The pledge animation leaves the wielder open, so it should be used at a safe distance or while an enemy is recovering.
