The Ash of War: Spinning Strikes is an Ash of War in Elden Ring that grants the Quality affinity and the Spinning Strikes skill. It is found in Liurnia of the Lakes, around the middle of a run.
Spinning Strikes twirls the polearm overhead in a continuous spin that keeps going for as long as the button is held, hitting anything that comes close. While spinning, it deflects arrows, fire pots and other physical projectiles. A normal attack ends the spin with a slash and uppercut, while a strong attack swipes and leaps forward into a heavy overhead strike. It suits Quality builds with halberds, spears and reapers.
Stats
It grants the Quality affinity and a Whetblade can switch it to Standard, Keen, Heavy, Fire, Flame Art, Lightning, Sacred, Magic, Cold, Poison, Blood or Occult. The skill costs 2 FP. It fits Spear, Halberd and Reaper.
How to Get Ash of War: Spinning Strikes Guide
- Comes equipped on the Banished Knight's Halberd +8 dropped by Castellan Edgar, either when he is killed at the top of Castle Morne in the Weeping Peninsula or when he invades near the Revenger's Shack in Liurnia of the Lakes.
- The Ash of War can be removed from the halberd.
- Once obtained, it can be duplicated by trading Lost Ashes of War to Smithing Master Hewg at the Roundtable Hold.

Skill
Holding the spin costs only a little FP per rotation and deals steady damage and stance damage, so it is effective against archers and enemies that stay in range. The strong attack follow-up covers a long distance and can land headshots on some enemies. The attacks can be parried, so the spin should be used carefully against parry-capable foes.
