Region Revelwood
Sub-region -

The Revelwood Hollow Halls are the second Hollow Halls, an underground crypt in the far north-west of Revelwood. Enemies inside are around level 15. They are the first Halls with a boss fight, against a Hollow Cyclops at the very bottom. Entry needs the Revelwood Bone Key, crafted by the Collector from Ectoplasm Fragments and Bones. Notes left by cursed prisoners lie in the dark, including the rants of a fallen magistrate. The Halls also hide the Red Marble Block and the Gem of Fracturing.

About Revelwood Hollow Halls

The Revelwood Hollow Halls are the second Halls and the first with a boss fight. The Collector says the one-eyed beasts came from faraway crags and were burnt and hollowed by the curse. The Collector sends players here in Ectoplasm Press For The Collector, which needs level 12 and Collector Needs Shelter. He asks for the head of the one-eyed beast that waits at the bottom of the Halls. One of the Hollow's hidden recipe notes lies here, a plan to win back the Flame's blessing with a brazier, a chandelier and many candles.

What's Inside

  • Enemy level is around 15.
  • Besides Hollow, parts of the Halls hold Revelwood creatures: Vicious Vines, rats and bats; spiders also appear.
  • A large chamber needs eight runes collected from side caves to open its barrier.
  • Traps include fireball traps and rolling magma stones; grappling hook anchors lead to some runes.
  • The boss is a Hollow Cyclops at the bottom of the Halls; it swings wide, slams the ground and casts green area attacks.
  • Hollow Cyclops are weak to blunt damage.
  • Unique artifacts: Dark Crystal Cluster, Large Dark Crystal and Sparkling Dark Crystal.
  • Hollow Reapers here can drop the Gem of Fracturing.

How to Unlock

Needs the Revelwood Bone Key: 50 Ectoplasm Fragments and 20 Bones, crafted by the Collector. The Collector's quest Ectoplasm Press For The Collector starts it; it needs level 12 and Collector Needs Shelter done.

Rewards

The boss Hollow Cyclops drops a Hollow Cyclops Head and Giant Bones. The head unlocks the Ectoplasm Press, the Collector's workshop. The press refines ectoplasm into stronger forms and makes ectoplasm soups. The quest pays the press and XP. Hollow Reapers here can drop the Gem of Fracturing. The Dark Crystal Cluster, the Large Dark Crystal and the Sparkling Dark Crystal are the Collector's artifacts of these Halls.

Tips

Bring a Grappling Hook, since grapple anchors lead to some of the runes. A large chamber stays sealed until eight runes from the side caves are collected. Reanimators are bone piles that keep spawning Hollow until they are destroyed, and explosives or axes break them fast. Fireball traps and rolling magma stones guard the side paths. The boss Hollow Cyclops has a long melee reach, so ranged attacks are safer. Blunt damage hurts it most.
