Rescue
Balthazar the Alchemist gives the quest that leads to the Hollow Halls. The quest opens after the Farmer and Carpenter are rescued and the character reaches level 8. Alden waits at the very end of the Springlands Hollow Halls dungeon. The Hollow Halls are hard, and going with a group is advised.

Lore
Alden practice dark magic and can create interesting necromantic items including Consumables and Decorations, as well as an Ectoplasm Press to turn ectoplasm crystals collected from the Hollow into edible soups. They delve into mystic arts like the Alchemist but with a darker theme. The Collector also offers Quests to delve into the Hollow Halls and recover items. Alden practises dark magic, a darker cousin of the Alchemist's craft. They claim to have had countless names and call themselves a ferryman and keeper of souls. They spent a long time in the Hollow Halls and remember the north winds from before their descent. Other survivors find Alden unsettling; the Alchemist and the Hunter both warn about them.
