The Skull Stalker Set is a Veilwater Basin ranger armor set built around skill-shot damage with the bow. Its strength is the largest skill-shot bonus of any set, carried mostly by the helmet. The Hunter crafts it, and pieces also turn up in chests. Every piece also shortens how long the wet status lasts.

Pieces

The helmet, chest and gloves all raise skill-shot damage, and the helmet carries the largest share. The helmet also adds ranged critical chance, and the gloves add bow damage. The chest, pants and shoes build a large stamina pool with fast regeneration. The set rewards careful aim at weak spots over rapid fire.

Levelling and Upgrades

The Hunter upgrades ranger armor for Runes. Crafted pieces are rare quality, while chests can hold common to legendary ones. The quality sets how many upgrade perks a piece can unlock. Legendary pieces unlock the most and need Legendary Runes for the later steps. The perks here add resistance to blunt, piercing, cutting and Shroud damage, more stamina, and extra levels in skills such as Sniper, Skill Shot and Counter Battery. It is the top skill-shot set of the game, made for the Veilwater Basin tier. Outgrown pieces salvage back into runes.

Lore

The horned helmet jokes that piercing a foe through the heart does not need the horns. The chest keeps its wearer calm and guarded while planning the next move.

Notes

Every piece of the Skull Stalker Set shortens the Wet effect. Being wet cuts stamina and stamina regeneration for a while, which hurts in the watery Veilwater Basin. With the set, the penalty wears off much sooner after swimming or wading. The set also carries the largest skill-shot bonus of any armour, most of it on the helmet. Skill shots are charged, precise bow shots, so the set rewards careful aim over rapid fire. The Hunter crafts it from Veilwater materials such as Capybara Bristles and Water Reptile Leather.
