The Quetzal Hunter Set is a Veilwater Basin ranger armor set for bow archers. Its strength is ranged damage and critical hits with a deep stamina pool and faster sprinting. The Hunter crafts it, and pieces also turn up in chests. Every piece also shortens how long the wet status lasts.

Pieces

The helmet raises the chance and the damage of ranged critical hits. The gloves add ranged damage and extra damage against ranged enemies. The chest adds health and a large block of stamina. The trousers add stamina and sprint speed, and the shoes speed up stamina regeneration and start it sooner.

How to Get Quetzal Hunter Set Guide

The Hunter makes every piece. Armor recipes unlock on their own each time the Flame is upgraded, one crafting tier at a time. The recipes use Veilwater materials: Capybara Bristles, Palm Leaves, Water Reptile Leather, Aquamarine and Pink Mushroom Meat, with a Bursting Fell Heart for the chest.

Levelling and Upgrades

The Hunter upgrades ranger armor for Runes. Crafted pieces are rare quality, while chests can hold common to legendary ones. The quality sets how many upgrade perks a piece can unlock. Legendary pieces unlock the most and need Legendary Runes for the later steps. The perks here add resistance to blunt, piercing, cutting and Shroud damage, more stamina, and extra levels in skills such as Puncture, Marksman and Fatal Precision. It is the last bow set before Cinder's Cradle, where the Ashwind Strider armor from the same crafter carries the role one tier higher. Outgrown pieces salvage back into runes.

Lore

The Quetzal Hunter Set honours the quetzal, a magnificent bird that once graced the skies of Embervale. The helmet promises the freedom and precision of flight to its wearer. Quetzals no longer roam Embervale, so dyed palm leaves replace their feathers on the chest. The gauntlets shield the arms while chasing through the undergrowth. The pants and shoes let the hunter sprint and glide through the thicket with the swiftness of wings.

Notes

Every piece of the Quetzal Hunter Set shortens the Wet effect. Being wet cuts stamina and stamina regeneration for a while, which hurts in the watery Veilwater Basin. With the set, the penalty wears off much sooner after swimming or wading. The Hunter crafts the pieces from Veilwater materials such as Capybara Bristles, Palm Leaves and Water Reptile Leather. It is the last bow set before Cinder's Cradle, where the Ashwind Strider armour takes over.
