The Trailblazer Set is an Albaneve Summits ranger armor set built around skill-shot damage with the bow. Its strength is a strong skill-shot bonus on the hood with stamina to keep moving, plus frost resistance on every piece. The Hunter crafts it, and pieces also turn up in chests.

Pieces

The hood, chest and gloves all raise skill-shot damage, and the hood carries the largest share. The hood also adds ranged critical chance, and the gloves add bow damage. The chest, trousers and boots add stamina and stamina regeneration. Frost resistance delays hypothermia in the Albaneve Summits.

Levelling and Upgrades

The Hunter upgrades ranger armor for Runes. Crafted pieces are rare quality, while chests can hold common to legendary ones. The quality sets how many upgrade perks a piece can unlock. Legendary pieces unlock the most and need Legendary Runes for the later steps. The perks here add resistance to blunt, piercing, cutting and Shroud damage, more stamina, and extra levels in skills such as Sniper, Skill Shot and Counter Battery. Upgraded gear peaks at level 55, far above the Albaneve Summits tier. The skill-shot line continues with the Skull Stalker Set in the Veilwater Basin. Outgrown pieces salvage back into runes.

Lore

The Trailblazer descriptions describe a hunter who stalks big game in the cold. The metal rim of the hood forms an elegant crown, and its tips are shaped like wings. The chest mixes soft cloth with hard, scale-like plating and carries small hunting trophies. The gloves are dark as the midnight sky and adorned with animal horns from the hunt. Deep blue trousers with patched leather keep out the bitter cold. The heavy boots give a strong stance against behemoths.

Tips

The Trailblazer Set is built around skill-shot damage with the bow. Skill shots are charged, precise shots, so the set rewards careful aim. For all-round bow damage, the Alpine Antler Set of the same tier is the better pick. Every piece adds frost resistance, which delays hypothermia in the cold of the Albaneve Summits. The skill-shot line continues with the Skull Stalker Set in the Veilwater Basin.
