Amethyst is a purple crystal from beneath the Shroud and a core material for armor in Enshrouded, from the Brazen Bull Chest to the Hailcaster Chest and the Trailblazer Chest. Its color runs from deep royal purple to soft lavender. It is mined from veins in the mines and caves of the Albaneve Summits, and Scavenger Miners drop it too. The Flame needs a large amount of it to reach level 8 at the Flame Altar, and furniture such as the Granite Throne uses it as well.
How to Get Amethyst Guide
Amethyst grows as purple veins in the mines and caves of the Albaneve Summits. A pickaxe breaks the veins open. Scavenger Miners and Scavenger Pyreblades drop it as well, so clearing a Scavenger mine pays twice. The summits are bitterly cold. Warm gear with frost resistance holds off hypothermia for longer, which helps on long mining trips. A warm fire or a heated base clears the cold again between runs.

Flame Altar
Amethyst is part of the offering that raises the Flame to level 8 at a Flame Altar. The same offering also asks for Sparks, Obsidian, Silver Bars, Mauveine and Wolfsbane. It also needs the head of the Fell Dragon Youngling boss as its key item. Each new Flame level adds time in the Shroud and opens deeper Shroud areas that were deadly before. Many armor recipes of the summits use Amethyst too, so a large stock pays off.
