Mauveine is an alchemical material in Enshrouded that is said to be useful for flesh wounds. The Flame needs a large stack of it to reach level 8 at the Flame Altar. The Laboratory makes it from Tar, Shroud Vapor, Nitrate and Sulfur. It goes into Violet Fabric, wall tapestries from the Bard and the Eternal Ember Arrow II.

Flame Altar
Mauveine is one of the five materials that strengthen the Flame to level 8 at a Flame Altar. The same upgrade asks for Obsidian, Silver Bars, Wolfsbane and Amethyst, along with Sparks, Water and the head of the boss Fell Dragon Youngling. A stronger Flame gives more time in the Shroud and opens deeper Shroud areas. It also allows more altars and more survivors at the bases. The Laboratory recipe for Mauveine unlocks during the Alchemist's quest Alchemic Wisdom, so that quest is worth finishing before the upgrade.
