Chitin Plate is harvested from ash hoppers, the leaping insects of Solstheim, and comes with the Dragonborn add-on. It is the shell that chitin armour is built from, the light Dunmer set that sits alongside bonemold in the same add-on.

Drops

Ash hoppers drop it, and they are common enough across the ash wastes that a walk between settlements usually produces several. Blacksmiths and general goods traders on Solstheim also stock it.

Uses

Chitin armour needs the Elven Smithing perk, which puts it within reach far earlier than its quality suggests. The set also takes Netch Leather and Refined Moonstone.

At 1 weight for 5 gold it is not worth carrying to sell. Take only what the armour needs.
