Chitin Heavy Armor is a heavy armor cuirass from Dragonborn, made from Chitin Plate. It has a base armor rating of 40 and weighs 35. It turns up on Solstheim, where reavers wear it.

Armor Enchantment

Chitin Heavy Armor Location

Glover Mallory, the blacksmith in Raven Rock, sells it. Chests and other loot on Solstheim hold copies, and reavers wear it. Vendil Severin wears the cuirass during the quest Served Cold.

Gameplay Tips

Temper it at a workbench with one Chitin Plate. The Elven Smithing perk doubles the improvement.
Forge it with the Elven Smithing perk from 6 Chitin Plate, 2 Netch Leather and 1 Corundum Ingot.
Its 40 armor matches Steel Plate Armor and Orcish Armor.
Four Chitin Heavy pieces count as a matched set for the Matching Set perk, which adds 25% armor.
