Iron Greaves are Scrap Iron dragged out of a Sunken Crypt and beaten flat at the forge, and they carry a Viking out of the swamp and up to the snowline of the Mountain. They have 14 armour, 20 when fully upgraded, and rank 9th among leg pieces. Worn with the rest of the Iron Armor set, they are part of a 42 armour rating, which turns a 100-damage hit into 58.
How to Craft
Craft them at a level 2 forge from:
- 20x Iron: Smelted from Scrap Iron in a Smelter.
- 2x Deer Hide: Drops from deer.

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Iron | Swamp | Smelter | spawn Iron

| Deer Hide | Meadows | - | spawn DeerHide

When to Use It
This is early game gear. Iron comes from Sunken Crypts in the Swamp, so the greaves open up once The Elder is down.
Upgrades
You can upgrade them 3 times after crafting, and each level needs the station built one step higher than the last. Every other figure on this page is for quality 1, so this table shows where your own pair sits:

| 1 | Forge (Level 2) | 14 | 1000 | |

Properties
- -5% Movement speed
- Movement -5%. This is what wearing them costs you in speed and in the cost of a dodge roll.
Notes
- They lower movement speed by 5%, and heavy chest and leg penalties add up, so a full heavy set slows you by 10%.
- Armor lowers physical, fire, frost and lightning damage, but poison and spirit damage go straight through it.
- Each upgrade level adds 2 armor.
