Stagbreaker is the answer when a Greydwarf pack closes in from every side, because it slams the ground instead of swinging at one target. Its Corewood comes from the Black Forest and its trophies from Meadows deer. It deals 20 blunt and 5 pierce. At 25 total damage it ranks 11th among clubs, a step on the ladder rather than the top of it. Blunt and pierce damage hurts Rancid Remains, Skeletons and Trolls more than most things, which is what you carry it for.
How to Craft
Made at a level 2 workbench, from:
- 20x Corewood: Chopped from pine trees in the Black Forest.
- 5x Deer trophy: Dropped by the deer.
- 2x Leather Scraps: Dropped by boars and bats, and dug out of muddy scrap piles.
| Name | Image | Biome | Crafting Station | Spawn ID |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Corewood | Black Forest | - | spawn RoundLog

| Deer trophy | Meadows | - | spawn TrophyDeer

| Leather Scraps | Meadows | - | spawn LeatherScraps

When to Use It
Early game. It needs Black Forest materials, so it comes after Eikthyr and the Antler Pickaxe.
Upgrades
It can be upgraded 3 times after crafting, and each level needs the station built one step higher than the last. Every other figure on this page is for quality 1, so this table shows where your own copy sits:
| Quality | Crafting Station | Blunt | Pierce | Durability | Resources |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Workbench (Level 2) | 20 | 5 | 100 |
|
| 2 | Workbench (Level 3) | 26 | 5 | 150 |
|
| 3 | Workbench (Level 4) | 32 | 5 | 200 |
|
| 4 | Workbench (Level 5) | 38 | 5 | 250 |

Properties
It slams rather than swings. The primary has no combo and no secondary: after a single long wind-up it hits the ground, and everything within a 4 metre sphere is damaged and knocked back. Aim at the floor between enemies rather than at one enemy.
It deals 20 blunt and 5 pierce and comes from a Workbench. Those are small numbers, but they hit everything at once, which in the Black Forest means a whole Greydwarf nest rather than one Greydwarf.
It hits through the floor. The slam is a sphere, so it reaches Skeletons on the other side of a Burial Chamber wall and buried Blobs a swing would miss.
Notes
- The primary moves you forward 0.66 m with each swing, which closes distance the knockback just opened.
- A two-handed hammer lands its blow 2 metres in front of the player and damages a 4-metre radius around that point, so positioning matters more than aim.
- Upgrading does not raise pierce, which is 5 at quality 1 and still 5 at quality 4. Upgrades raise only blunt, from 20 to 38.
