Veydris is the rich purple gem of the Deep North, one of the gems found only in the far north. Its only value is what a trader pays for it, since no recipe or build piece uses it. At 135 coins it is the second most valuable item a trader will buy, behind only Draumyx. A gem weighs 0.3 and stacks to 20, so a full stack is worth 2700 coins and every unit of carry weight spent on it returns about 450.
A single Veydris is worth more than four Silver Necklaces, and its description calls it a rich purple stone, suitable for royalty.
How to Get It
All of the Deep North gems come from the same places, so hunting for one turns up the others.
Gems lie on Mörkhalla's floors and in decorative wall sockets, though some sockets hold Iolite, Jade or Bloodstone from the Ashlands instead. Mörkhalla's ancient chests hold more.
The imprisoned Dvergr of Mörkhalla drop each of the gems one time in ten. At one star they drop two of them one time in five, and at two stars four of them two times in five. They are neutral until attacked, so the gems cost a fight you choose to start.
Outside the dungeon, the Deep North's Viking graveyards hide gems underground. The stone formations are laid out like a ship, and a few pickaxe strikes inside the stones uncover the gems, with a one in two chance of a loot chest towards the centre. The shipwrecks on its shores have a three in four chance of a chest buried a few strikes below the mast, and that chest can hold gems too.
Notes
- Haldor, Hildir and the Bog Witch all buy valuables, so any of them will take gems.
- The frozen ships on the arrival coast, which still carry their sails, hold nothing. Only the broken wrecks have chests.
