Mörkhalla is a dungeon in the Deep North. You need an Intricate Key to open its entrance, the Gates of Mörkhalla. The key stays in your inventory when you open them, and you can close the gates again.
Where to Find It
Each world places up to 40 Mörkhalla entrances. They can spawn anywhere in the Deep North, including near its edges, at an altitude of at least 30 metres and at least 275 metres apart.
What's Inside
The dungeon is built from four or five large sections and has around 14 floors, split into two sides by a large central gap, with bridges and drawbridges crossing between them. The entrance is near the top, and the most valuable loot is on the bottom floor. Inside it is always dark and counts as a cold environment.
Some gates inside the dungeon, also called Gates of Mörkhalla, use up an Intricate Key when you open them and then stay open.
Floors
Every floor is guarded by Krigen, Hexen, Captive Fulings, Imprisoned Dvergr and Hexahedric Pulps. A Hexahedric Pulp has 600 health and spawns Shapeless Pulp while a player is within 20 metres.
The valuables Grimvarn, Solryth, Veydris and Draumyx lie on the floor or sit in decorative wall sockets, and some sockets hold Iolite, Jade or Bloodstone instead.
Destroying rubble piles drops 1 to 5 Ancient Coins and Grausten. Piles of wooden debris drop 2 to 3 Wood, and fire pits drop 2 to 4 Memorial Coal or Coal. Furniture drops Timberwood and Chains, while banners and rugs drop Red Jute. Treasure chests come in two types, the Ancient Chest and the Jotun's Chest, and some are hidden behind cobwebs under the stairs.
Bottom Floor
Destroying the Malicious Ice on the bottom floor immediately starts a Jotun Invasion somewhere in the world. The Malicious Ice has 1,000 health. While a player is within 120 metres, it spawns a Krigen or Hexen every 50 seconds until six of them are within 50 metres. Three in four of these spawns are Krigen, and they can have up to two stars.
Training dummies drop Timberwood, Barley and Flax. Weapon stands drop Timberwood, Scrap Iron and weapon, staff or shield Moulds. Coal piles drop 3 to 5 Memorial Coal, and rolled-up sleeping spots drop Asksvin Hide, Moose Hide, Lox Pelt and Wolf Pelt.

Notes
- An Ancient Chest holds 5 to 7 items and a Jotun's Chest 2 to 4, with at most one of each item.
- A Vegvisir in Mörkhalla reveals the location of an Aesir Passage, the gate to The Prison of Kall Fimbulbringer.
- Falling deals at most 100 damage, so a player with more than 100 health, or one wearing the Feather Cape, survives a jump down the central gap to the bottom floor.
- Every Mörkhalla has at least one route back to the surface that works without the Grappling Hook, so players cannot get trapped inside.
- You can place Campfires and Cooking Stations inside.
- Munin describes the inhabitants of Mörkhalla: "Kraa! Strange folk dwell here, created from the very evil itself..."
