The Bog Witch

The Bog Witch

The Bog Witch is a Greydwarf who talks. She trades from a hut in the Swamp, under a shimmering dome that nothing hostile can cross, and she sells the brewing and seasoning half of the kitchen.

Lore

She is old and she is not friendly, yet she is the only Greydwarf who has ever been glad to see you. The dome over her hut keeps the Swamp out, which is why a hut in the middle of a poison bog is the safest room for miles.

Her stock is the part of cooking you cannot craft: the vials and pebbles that go into a Mead Ketill, the spice powders a feast needs, and the tray it is served from. Kvastur, the wooden broom that stands outside and sweeps the hut, belongs to her. It stays neutral unless attacked, and it will fight anything that threatens the camp.

Where to Find Them

Her hut stands in the Swamp, three to eight kilometres out from the centre of the world, under a dome that creatures cannot enter. Once you have walked close enough, a cauldron marks it on the map. Each world generates up to ten possible spawn points, and the first one you approach becomes permanent.

The Serving Tray costs 140 coins, and you need it to place any Feast. Without it, the finished dishes cannot be eaten. Most of the spice powders only unlock after specific bosses, and they are the only way to craft the long-duration shared meals:

  • Woodland Herb Blend: after The Elder, for the Meadows, Black Forest and Swamp feasts
  • Seafarer’s Herbs: after you kill a Serpent
  • Mountain Peak Pepper Powder: after Moder
  • Grasslands Herbalist Harvest: after Yagluth
  • Herbs of the Hidden Hills: after The Queen
  • Fiery Spice Powder: after Fader
  • Seasoning of the Gourd: after Kall Fimbulbringer

She also sells Corked Vials once The Elder is dead, Toadstools and Fragrant Bundles once Moder is dead, and Scythe Handles, Love Potions, Ivy Seeds, Candle Wicks and several other mead and utility ingredients. Many of these are unique and cannot be crafted anywhere else.

The Bog Witch The Bog Witch Swamp A hut under a shimmering dome, three to eight kilometres from the middle of the world, marked with a cauldron. Some of her stock waits on a boss. The spices and the tray are what make a feast possible at all.
