The Afterlife is the most famous merc bar in Night City, set in an old morgue in Little China. Top fixers and solos come here to drink, trade gossip and cut the biggest deals in the city. The jobs offered here pay the most money in Night City. Its owner is Rogue Amendiares, the Queen of Fixers.
History
Downtown
The first Afterlife stood downtown for decades and was known for its solo and merc customers. When the old Corporate Plaza was rebuilt and the area became Downtown, there was no room left for a rough solo bar, and the old club was abandoned.
The Morgue
Rogue moved north to Watson and took over a former morgue. She kept the old traditions when she rebuilt it. The drinks are still named after legendary edgerunners who went out in a blaze of glory. The new bar is still the most famous and most notorious edgerunner bar in the city. Famous mercs such as David Martinez and the fixer Faraday have drunk here, and fist fights are common.

Inside Afterlife
The Door
An old saying goes: "There is only one path in Night City worth walking: the one that leads to the Afterlife." Once a merc makes it inside, sooner or later everything else opens up.
Not everyone gets past the door. A merc needs a known name or a referral, and the bouncer Emmerick Bronson turns away anyone without one. The bar only opens after a meeting there with Jackie Welles during the heist.
Inside
Inside, mercs and fixers meet in the lounge and the booths, and Rogue holds court at her own table. The bar is a nerve centre of the city, where big names such as Rogue and Dexter DeShawn can be seen. An old saying claims that the ghost of Morgan Blackhand still walks the bar. It is said to switch off the safeties of holstered guns.
Jobs
V, Jackie Welles and T-Bug come here for the first time after finishing a job for Dexter DeShawn, and the story of the heist begins here. Many later jobs start here too. Rogue, Dennis Cranmer, Nix and Claire Russell all hand out work from their places in the bar. Dennis offers Big in Japan, and Rogue is picked up here in the evening for Blistering Love.
