Quadra is an American maker of muscle cars, and its slogan is to drive to the future through the past. Everything it builds is loud, rear-driven and shaped like a car from a hundred years ago. The Type-66 and the Turbo-R are the models Night City knows, and both appear in more custom versions than any other car in the game. Nomads, fixers, gangs and corporations have all cut a Quadra into something of their own.
History
Quadra began with a homage. During a brief fashion for classic cars, the company released the Thunder-X as a modern take on the vintage machines of the mid twentieth century, and the formula stuck.
For decades after that, Quadra was known for retro styled muscle cars sold to ordinary buyers rather than to collectors. By the time V arrives in Night City, the company has turned that habit into an art. The Type-66 and the Turbo-R are its best known work, and the Sport R-7 completed the set of three muscle cars that the maker is built on.
Vehicles
Quadra builds three model lines. The Type-66 is the famous one, a long rear-driven coupe sold as the 640 TS, the 680 TS and the Avenger. The Turbo-R is lighter and sharper, sold as the 720, the 740 and the V-Tech. The Sport R-7 is the comfortable one, sold as the 540 and the 580.
The custom versions outnumber the factory ones. The Type-66 "Javelina" is the fastest of them, an armed nomad build that sells for €$ 99,000. The Type-66 "Cthulhu" costs €$ 67,000 and is tied to the races of The Beast in Me. The Type-66 "Jen Rowley" sells for €$ 52,000 and the Avenger for 75,000. Rogue drives the Type-66 "Mistral", and the Wraiths run the all-wheel-drive Type-66 "Reaver".
The Turbo-R 740 sells for €$ 69,000, while the Turbo-R V-Tech is a reward from the job Sex On Wheels and the Turbo-R "Raijin" belongs to the Tyger Claws. Among the Sport R-7s, the "Vigilante" costs €$ 86,000 and is linked to The Heist, the "Chiaroscuro" costs 81,000, the "Sterling" comes from Hi Ho Silver Lining, and the "Charon" is free to anyone who finds it.
Quadra is one of the partner makers for Rayfield's CrystalCoat technology, so some of its cars can change their paint on demand.
