Knockin' on Heaven's Door is the main job on the Rogue path of the ending, after For Whom the Bell Tolls. Johnny Silverhand, in V's body, raids Arasaka Tower with Rogue Amendiares and her man Weyland, to free Alt Cunningham in the tower's system and reach Mikoshi. The raid ends with a fight against Adam Smasher and the final choice at Mikoshi.
Story
One More Wild Ride
The journal is Johnny again. The worst is behind them, he says. Rogue was shaking worse than all the corporate types put together, but she said yes in the end. They are going back to Arasaka Tower, and this time they will finish things right. They will cut Alt loose in the tower's system, and she will open the way to Mikoshi. Johnny only wishes V could see it.
The Jungle Floor
The flying car comes down in the forest section of the tower. Weyland is in trouble near the crash, and Rogue goes to help him. Johnny can follow her and take out Arasaka guards on the way. Then the team finds the commanding officer and takes his access token for the lifts.
Alt
The lift takes the team to the atrium and on to the security level. Johnny switches on access to the server room from a computer in the security room, then connects Alt to the system in the server room. From there, a lift leads down to the netrunner operations floor and towards Mikoshi.
Smasher
At the gate to Mikoshi, Adam Smasher waits. Weyland helps in the fight. After Smasher falls, Johnny decides his fate and can pick up Rogue's gun. Johnny connects to Mikoshi at its access point and enters cyberspace, where he finds V. Their final talk decides the ending: Path of Glory or New Dawn Fades.
