Maiko Maeda began as a doll at Clouds like any other, but through wit and sheer determination she became the club's unofficial manager in a short time. She knows that power is the key to everything in Night City: respect, money and safety. She paid a high price for her position, and she treats those who do not try to better themselves with contempt. She is Judy Álvarez's former girlfriend.
Biography
Clouds
Maiko worked as a doll at Clouds, where she met Judy Álvarez, the club's braindance technician. The two became a couple, and Judy tweaked Maiko's doll chip to help her rise. As Maiko gained power, she started to change, and the relationship ended in a bitter break-up. She now runs Clouds for the Tyger Claws under the owner, Hiromi Sato.
The Takeover
After Evelyn Parker's death, Judy and V come to Clouds to see Maiko. She refuses to change the way the club is run, but she gives them the chance to deal with Woodman. Later she agrees to help Judy's plan to free Clouds by arranging a meeting with Hiromi and his Tyger Claw bosses, where Hiromi is to be killed. At the meeting she changes the deal: she wants to take over the club herself, under Tyger Claw protection, and she offers V a bribe to go along.

Personality
Maiko is clever, ambitious and cold. She believes that power is the only real protection in Night City and that the weak have only themselves to blame. She can be charming when she wants something. She still has some feeling for Judy, but she will not let it stand in her way.
Relationships
Judy Álvarez is her former girlfriend. Woodman works beside her at Clouds. Hiromi Sato owns the club, and the Tyger Claws protect it.

Endings
The meeting in Pisces decides her fate. If V accepts her deal, the Tyger Claws kill Hiromi and make Maiko owner of Clouds. If V refuses, the Tyger Claws attack, and Maiko may turn on V. V can kill her, knock her out or talk her down. If she lives, she appears at the Black Sapphire gala in Phantom Liberty among the Tyger Claws.
Notes
Accepting Maiko's bribe at the end of Pisces ends any chance of a romance with Judy.
