Evelyn Parker is a doll from Clouds and the woman who sets the Konpeki Plaza heist in motion. She looks like a high-ranking corpo but meets her contacts in gang bars, and she hires rookie mercs for one of the biggest jobs in the city. She is charming and funny, but she drives a hard bargain and likes to pull everyone's strings. What happens to her after the heist drives Judy Álvarez's story.
Biography
The Doll
Evelyn is clever and ambitious and wants more from life than Night City offers. She dreamed of becoming an actress, and a job at Clouds, the doll house in Japantown, was meant to be a stepping stone. It became something more permanent than she planned. At Clouds she met Judy Álvarez, who became her best friend.
The Relic
Evelyn becomes a regular companion of Yorinobu Arasaka at Konpeki Plaza. The Voodoo Boys learn of this and hire her to record a braindance of his suite for a planned theft. Evelyn works out that they want the Relic, a biochip that holds the mind of Johnny Silverhand. She decides to steal it for herself and offers it to NetWatch in exchange for money, protection and a new identity.
She hires the fixer Dexter DeShawn to plan the job, and Dex brings in V and Jackie. Evelyn meets V at Lizzie's Bar, and with Judy's help V studies her braindance of the suite. She does not trust Dex, and she offers V a bigger share of the money if V cuts him out.
After the Heist
When the heist goes wrong, Evelyn hides at Lizzie's Bar for a few days and then goes back to work at Clouds. There the Voodoo Boys attack her through the net to silence her, because she knows too much and went behind their backs. She survives, but her implants are wrecked and she is left in a coma, aware of the world but unable to move.
Woodman, the caretaker of Clouds, abuses her while she is helpless. He then hands her to the ripperdoc Fingers to fix her, and when Fingers fails, Woodman leaves her with him as payment. Fingers sells her to the Scavengers, who keep her alive to record black braindances.
V and Judy track her down and rescue her from a Scavenger den in an old power plant. Judy cares for her at home, and Evelyn slowly begins to recover, but the horror of what was done to her is too much. She takes her own life in Judy's apartment while Judy is out. Judy has her ashes laid to rest at the North Oak Columbarium.
