Transmission is the main job in which the Voodoo Boys take V into cyberspace to reach Alt Cunningham beyond the Blackwall. It starts at Batty's Hotel in Coastview, Pacifica, once V accepts Brigitte's offer at the end of I Walk the Line, and takes place in an old maglev tunnel under the Pacifica Serenity Bible Church. How it ends depends on what V did with the NetWatch agent in the mall.
Story
Rezo Agwe
Brigitte, the leader of the Voodoo Boys, leads V down to the maglev tunnel beneath the church. It is the gang's hideout and the physical home of their data fortress, Rezo Agwe. Brigitte wants to use V and Johnny Silverhand's engram to talk to Alt Cunningham, who can help the gang's netrunners cross the Blackwall.
Johnny is thrilled. In the journal he says that working with Brigitte leads straight to Alt, and that fixing V's head will be easy for her. He tells V to do what Brigitte says for now and leave the rest to him.
A Memory
V gets into an ice bath and dives into cyberspace with Brigitte. There, V is pulled into one of Johnny's memories, played out in Never Fade Away. In it, Johnny tries and fails to rescue Alt from Arasaka. The memory is not an accurate record of what really happened.
The Blackwall
After the memory, V talks to Johnny about what they saw and returns to Brigitte in cyberspace. Brigitte and her netrunners take V to the edge of the Blackwall, the barrier that keeps the rogue AIs of the old net out. She sends V through to speak to Alt and ask her to let the Voodoo Boys across.
Ally or Foe
What happens next depends on I Walk the Line. If V took the NetWatch agent's deal, the shard he gave V removed Placide's virus but planted a NetWatch tracker instead. When the Voodoo Boys reach Alt, she realises NetWatch is moving in. To stop it, she kills every Voodoo Boy in the net, sparing only V. V wakes to find Brigitte and her netrunners dead in their chairs, and Placide and the rest of the gang turn on V.
If V stayed loyal to Placide's plan, Alt helps the Voodoo Boys' netrunners through the Blackwall. Back in the real world, V confronts Brigitte, who orders V to leave. V can go quietly or fight.

Into Cyberspace
- Return to Brigitte at Batty's Hotel and accept her offer, if it was refused at the end of I Walk the Line.
- Follow Brigitte into the chapel and down to the Voodoo Boys' den.
- Talk to Brigitte, then get into the ice bath.
- Play through Johnny's memory in Never Fade Away.
- Talk to Johnny in cyberspace after the memory.
- Follow Brigitte to the Blackwall and talk to Alt.
If V Sided with NetWatch
- Wake up in the den, where Brigitte and her netrunners lie dead.
- Fight through the Voodoo Boys in the tunnels.
- Defeat Placide and take his keys.
- Unlock the chapel door with the keys and leave.
If V Stayed with Placide
- Talk to Brigitte after waking up.
- Leave the chapel without starting a fight, or fight the gang on the way out.

Choices
The ending of this job was decided in I Walk the Line. Siding with the NetWatch agent means betraying the Voodoo Boys: Alt kills their netrunners, and V must fight Placide to get out. Knocking out the agent keeps V on good terms, Alt helps the gang through the Blackwall, and V can walk out in peace, as long as V does not attack anyone.
Rewards
Completing Transmission rewards Virtual Jumpsuit.
Several side jobs open after Transmission. Frank Nostra calls about some dirt on old enemies in War Pigs. The Bartmoss Collective texts about Killing In The Name. A clown named Ozob Bozo offers a job in Send in the Clowns.
Tips
The fight with Placide only happens on the NetWatch path. He has to be beaten for the keys that open the chapel door.
