M'ap Tann Pèlen

M'ap Tann Pèlen
Type Main Job
Region Pacifica
Previous Double Life
Next I Walk the Line

M'ap Tann Pèlen is the main job in which V tries to reach the Voodoo Boys, the netrunner gang of Pacifica, after Double Life. The fixer Mr. Hands opens the door, and the trail leads to the Pacifica Serenity Bible Church and a butcher shop in Coastview. There V meets Placide, the gang's enforcer. The title is Haitian Creole and means "I am waiting for the trap".

Story

Mr. Hands

The braindances from Evelyn's memory showed that the Voodoo Boys were behind the job on Konpeki Plaza. The journal sums it up as one step forward and two steps back. The gang is known, but now someone has to reach them, and Pacifica rarely gives up what people are looking for. The good news is that V already has a fixer for it, a man without a face.

That man is Mr. Hands, the fixer of Pacifica. V calls him for help in getting in touch with the gang. He warns that it will be almost impossible, as the Voodoo Boys keep to themselves, but he promises to look into it.

A Job for the Gang

Some time later, Mr. Hands calls back. As expected, the Voodoo Boys have no interest in anything V has to offer. But they do have a job that needs doing, and Mr. Hands has volunteered V for it. If it goes well, V will get a meeting with Brigitte, the gang's leader.

The Chapel and the Butcher

Mr. Hands sends V to the chapel on Sloane Street, the Pacifica Serenity Bible Church, which only opens in the daytime. A man meets V at the altar and directs V to a butcher shop near the shopping centre. There, V asks the vendor for Placide, looks into a camera so the gang can check V's identity, and goes into the back room.

Placide is the enforcer of the Voodoo Boys, and he does not trust V. He is busy with a chicken when V arrives. He leads V to a quiet room, sits V down and explains what the gang wants. The story continues in I Walk the Line.

Choices

The talks with Mr. Hands and Placide change only the dialogue. The job always leads to the deal with Placide and on to I Walk the Line.

Rewards

Completing M'ap Tann Pèlen rewards Butcher's Cleaver (missable).

Placide leaves a knife behind when he is done with the chicken. This is the Iconic knife Butcher's Cleaver, and it can be picked up before following him.

Tips

The job has a waiting period. While Mr. Hands looks into the gang, it is a good moment to do side jobs and gigs. Judy calls during this time to start her side job Both Sides, Now.

Notes

  • The title comes from a song of the Bizango, a secret society of Haitian Vodou.
