The Ash of War: Blood Tax is an Ash of War in Elden Ring that grants the Blood affinity and the Blood Tax skill. It becomes available in the middle of a run.
Blood Tax is a Blood Oath skill in which the wielder twists to build power, then unleashes a flurry of four thrusts. Each thrust steals HP from the target and restores the wielder's own health, with the first and last thrusts healing the most. The rapid hits also apply the weapon's status build-up, so it pairs well with bleed weapons and buffs. It suits Arcane bleed builds using spears, halberds and other thrusting weapons.
Stats
It grants the Blood affinity and a Whetblade can switch it to Standard, Heavy, Keen, Quality, Poison or Occult. It fits Dagger, Throwing Blade, Straight Sword, Light Greatsword, Greatsword, Thrusting Sword, Heavy Thrusting Sword, Katana, Great Katana, Twinblade, Spear, Great Spear, Halberd and Thrusting Shield.

Skill
Start the skill right next to the target so all four thrusts connect, since light enemies get pushed back by the hits. It staggers human-sized enemies well but grants no extra poise, so it can be interrupted. Every thrust can be parried, which makes it risky against parry-happy players.
