The Ash of War: Determination is an Ash of War in Elden Ring that grants the Quality affinity and the Determination skill. It is an early find in Limgrave.
Determination has the wielder hold the flat of the weapon to their face and pledge their resolve, powering up the next attack. The next hit that lands gains a large boost to attack power and deals much more stamina damage to guarding enemies. Critical hits gain a smaller bonus. It suits any build that wants a cheap way to open a fight with a heavy blow, especially with charged heavy attacks.

It grants the Quality affinity and a Whetblade can switch it to Standard, Heavy, Keen, Fire, Flame Art, Lightning, Sacred, Magic, Cold, Poison, Blood or Occult. The skill costs 10 FP. Skill
Use it right before a charged heavy attack, a jump attack or a guard-breaking swing, since only the next hit that lands consumes the buff. The buff fades after 10 seconds if no hit connects. On multi-hit attacks only the last hit spends the boost, so slow single heavy swings get the most from it.
