The Ash of War: Lightning Slash is an Ash of War in Elden Ring that grants the Lightning affinity and the Lightning Slash skill. It becomes available partway through a run, in the Altus Plateau.
Lightning Slash calls a bolt of lightning down into the weapon, then swings it down to create an explosive shock. The strike is followed by a lightning bolt hitting the ground, and the weapon keeps a lightning enchantment that adds flat lightning damage for 40 seconds. The bolt's damage scales with Dexterity. It suits Dexterity builds using swords, axes and hammers that want a strong opener and a lasting damage buff.

It grants the Lightning affinity and a Whetblade can switch it to Standard, Heavy, Keen, Quality or Sacred. The skill costs 10 FP. Skill
Open fights with it to land the slash and bolt, then keep attacking while the enchantment lasts. The lightning bolt lands just after the swing, so a target hit by the weapon can sometimes dodge the bolt. The enchantment counts as a weapon buff and replaces greases or other blade buffs.
