The Ash of War: Spinning Slash is an Ash of War in Elden Ring that grants the Keen affinity and the Spinning Slash skill. It can be picked up early in a run.
Spinning Slash spins the whole body to cut foes in a full circle, and an additional input adds two more spins for a heavy finish. Daggers, swords, katanas and axes spin quickly and deal more stance damage, while greatswords, greataxes and polearms use a slower, sweeping version with heavy hyper armor. It hits everything around the wielder, making it a strong answer to groups. It suits Dexterity builds and anyone who wants reliable crowd control.
Stats
It grants the Keen affinity and a Whetblade can switch it to Standard, Heavy, Quality, Fire, Flame Art, Lightning, Sacred, Magic, Cold, Poison, Blood or Occult. The skill costs 6 FP. It fits Dagger, Throwing Blade, Straight Sword, Light Greatsword, Greatsword, Curved Sword, Curved Greatsword, Backhand Blade, Katana, Great Katana, Twinblade, Axe, Greataxe, Spear, Great Spear, Halberd and Reaper.
How to Get Ash of War: Spinning Slash Guide
- Sold by Bernahl for 1,200 runes at the Warmaster's Shack in Stormhill, and later in the Drawing Room of Volcano Manor once he moves there.
- If Bernahl dies before it is bought, the Twin Maiden Husks at the Roundtable Hold sell it for the same price after receiving Bernahl's Bell Bearing.
- Once obtained, it can be duplicated by trading Lost Ashes of War to Smithing Master Hewg at the Roundtable Hold.

Skill
The first spin is cheap and fast, so it works as a quick punish, while the follow-up is best saved for staggered targets or crowds. On large weapons the hyper armor lets the spin trade through weaker attacks. The Ash of War version cannot be parried.
