The Carian Retaliation is a Carian sorcery in Elden Ring. It becomes available partway through a run, in Liurnia of the Lakes.
Carian Retaliation was the Carian royal family's secret means of preparing against the disloyalty of the academy, a sign that the moon and stars would one day go their separate ways. A swing of the staff creates a brief blue aura that dispels the first incoming sorcery or incantation and turns its power into three glintblades that hover overhead and strike back at nearby foes. It is a cheap, situational counter that works against both sorceries and incantations. The Carian Glintblade Staff boosts it, and the returning blades also gain power from buffs on the main hand weapon such as Scholar's Armament or greases. The Ash of War version is often the more practical choice, so the spell suits dedicated casters who expect to face enemy magic.
Effect
Swings the staff to dispel the first incoming sorcery or incantation and turn it into three magic glintblades that strike back at foes. Each cast costs 8 FP and takes up one memory slot.
How to Get Carian Retaliation Guide
- Sold by Preceptor Seluvis at Seluvis's Rise in Liurnia of the Lakes for 9,000 runes.
