The Moonveil is a Katana in Elden Ring. It is picked up mid-game, in the Gael Tunnel.

Moonveil is a katana forged of glintstone, the masterpiece of a Sellian swordsmith, named for the light that wreathes its blade when sheathed. It drops from the Magma Wyrm at the end of Gael Tunnel in Caelid. Its unique skill, Transient Moonlight, holds the blade at the hip and draws it at great speed: a light attack fires a short horizontal wave, a heavy attack a long vertical wave along the ground, and blade and wave deal damage separately. It deals physical and magic damage with 50 blood loss buildup, and its highest scaling is C in Intelligence, so the skill hits hard relative to Intelligence for a low FP cost. It suits an Intelligence and Dexterity spellblade.

Skill

Transient Moonlight costs 15 / 20 FP. The wielder sheathes Moonveil at the hip in a composed stance. A normal attack draws the blade for a swift horizontal slash, while a strong attack draws it into an overhead strike, and both fire off a wave of light that deals magic damage. The waves can be aimed freely when not locked on, and the Spellblade set boosts their damage. The skill is unique to this weapon and cannot be swapped out.
