The Assassin Set is a ranger armour set for dagger fighters who kill from the shadows. It raises backstab damage, dagger damage and melee critical hits, and it makes sneaking faster. The Hunter crafts it, and bosses and chests in the Kindlewastes drop copies.

Pieces

The hood raises melee critical hits and backstab damage, and the gloves add dagger damage. The trousers speed up sneaking. The chest and boots add mana and stamina. The set rewards striking from behind, then stepping out before the enemy turns.

Levelling and Upgrades

Every piece starts at item level 20. Each upgrade at the Hunter costs Runes and adds one item level, more armour and one enhancement, such as extra health or a level of the Dagger Mastery skill. A crafted piece is rare and takes three upgrades, up to level 23. A legendary copy from loot takes five, up to level 25, and its last steps also cost Legendary Runes. The same role continues with the Frostbite Slasher Set at level 30.

Lore

The Assassin pieces are made for a killer who works from the shadows. A cloth on the hood hides the face, and with it a most likely daunting smile. The refined chest piece lets the wearer fade into the dark and strike from hiding. The gloves hide the palms and the wearer's true intentions. The trousers look plain, and in other times they would blend into any crowd. The boots make every step quick and quiet, and every strike deadly.
