East Lapis is a ruined city in the north-east of the Kindlewastes, once a trading town with an archive and a merchant square. Famine and drought slowly emptied it. Its people gathered the survivors of the region into a caravan led by Queen Jezmina. In the city's last days, a man called Uncle Dreadbane dragged a heavy hammer through the halls, swearing he heard something crawl below. Today Scavengers and Fell share the ruins, and his hammer Dreadbane still waits in the city. The Kindlewastes Hollow Halls lie beneath it.
Where to Find East Lapis - Map Location
East Lapis lies in the north-east of the Kindlewastes. The Weaver's Cottage stands right at its eastern edge. Ocean's Heart is a short way south-east. A Flame Shrine stands to the south, and the entrance to the Kindlewastes Hollow Halls lies further south.

Enemies
Scavengers and Fell both hold parts of the city. The region's notes also tell of a buried tomb near East Lapis that is guarded by Hollow. A Scavenger Matron rules the castle of Ocean's Heart nearby.

Unique Loot
Dreadbane is a two-handed hammer and a lore weapon. Its description calls it a large, powerful hammer corrupted by the Shroud, and good for smashing bugs. After it is found, it can also be crafted. The Minstrel Hat is a colourful, flashy hat worn by poets, minstrels and traders of luxury goods. It lies in a Vukah cave west of East Lapis.

Chests
The gold chest sits on top of a roof. Silver chests wait at the top of the central tower, in the small, slim tower of another building and in a basement. One more silver chest stands on a second floor behind a locked door, so a Lockpick is useful.

Lore Pages
"Uncle Dreadbane" lies on top of the central tower. Its writer took shelter with Dreadbane during the famine, and starts to hear the crawling too after he goes to the well and does not come back. "Our Hats Are Lost" lies on a yellowish table on the upper floor of the building south of the merchant square. In it, a hat maker rages that Kaori Conway's courier lost their clothing shipment. "Banishment" lies in the building with a crane on top, near a bonfire and a stall, and is a farewell from someone who will go willingly to the Hollow Halls beneath East Lapis.
