The Golden Bulwark Set is a heavy warrior armour set for tanks in the Veilwater Basin. It adds a huge health pool, stronger blocks and more damage on merciless attacks. Every piece also shortens the Wet debuff. The Blacksmith crafts it, and bosses and chests in the Veilwater Basin drop copies.

Pieces

The chestplate, pants and boots add health and regeneration. The gloves improve blocking. The helmet boosts merciless attacks on overpowered enemies, whose stun bar fills through parries and blocked hits. The set makes a front-line tank who punishes openings.

Levelling and Upgrades

Every piece starts at item level 40. Each upgrade at the Blacksmith costs Runes and adds one item level, more armour and one enhancement, such as extra health or a level of the Soul Leech skill. A crafted piece is rare and takes three upgrades, up to level 43. A legendary copy from loot takes five, up to level 45, and its last steps also cost Legendary Runes. The same role continues with the Crestflame armour at level 45 in Cinder's Cradle.

Lore

One look into the helmet's eyes makes enemies want to turn the other way. Its text calls that look the first line of defense. The gold-plated chest plate is heavy and imposing, and hard to pierce. Crystals on the gloves catch the sun with every block. The light boots exist to balance the weight of the chest plate.

Notes

Every piece shortens the Wet effect, which matters in the watery Veilwater Basin. The whole set makes a front-line tank with a large health pool and strong blocks. The helmet raises damage on merciless attacks against stunned enemies. The chest plate needs a Bursting Fell Heart, which drops from Fell Sporeheads in the Basin. The same role continues with the Crestflame armor in Cinder's Cradle.
