The Plaguebringer Set is a Nomad Highlands ranger armor set made for fighting inside the Shroud. Its strength is extra Shroud time and Shroud resistance, plus ranged damage while Enshrouded. The Hunter crafts it from the remains of monstrous Shroud creatures.

Pieces

The hood, chest and trousers each extend the time a player can stay in the Shroud. The gloves and boots add Shroud resistance instead. The gloves also raise ranged damage while Enshrouded, and the hood raises ranged critical chance. The chest and trousers add stamina, and the boots add stamina regeneration.

How to Get Plaguebringer Set Guide

The Hunter makes every piece. Armor recipes unlock on their own each time the Flame is upgraded, one crafting tier at a time. The recipes use Leather, Feathers, Bronze Bars and Tin Bars with Shroud spoils such as Shroud Gelatin, Shroud Adhesive and Monstrous Ribs.

Levelling and Upgrades

The Hunter upgrades ranger armor for Runes. Crafted pieces are rare quality, while chests can hold common to legendary ones. The quality sets how many upgrade perks a piece can unlock. Legendary pieces unlock the most and need Legendary Runes for the later steps. The perks here add resistance to blunt, piercing and cutting damage, and extra levels in skills such as Sniper, Vitality Surge and Skill Shot. Upgraded gear peaks at level 55, far above the Nomad Highlands tier. Outgrown pieces salvage back into runes.

Lore

The Plaguebringer descriptions describe leather armour eaten by disease. Putrescence laps against the side of the brown hood like a wave of pestilence crashing to shore. Countless cankerous growths sprout from the chest piece and forge it in a new image. Tusks and bone shards jut out of the archer gloves and make them lopsided. The grain of the trousers turns into fine fungal tendrils. The boots are always damp, even inside, and walking in them feels like wading through a bog.

Tips

The Plaguebringer Set is built for archers who fight inside the Shroud. Its extra Shroud time and Shroud resistance let a ranger stay longer in Shroud areas and Shroud Lairs. The gloves raise ranged damage while Enshrouded, so the set pays off most in fights within the Shroud itself. A Shroud Survival Flask adds more time, and standing near a Return Beacon refills the timer to full. Fire arrows suit it well, because the Fell take extra damage from fire.
