Linen Cape is the plain traveller's cape, spun from twenty threads of Plains flax and clasped with a bar of Mountain silver, and it is made for country with no weather to resist. It gives 1 armour, or 4 fully upgraded. Worn with the rest of the Padded Armor set, it is part of a 79 armour rating, which turns a 100-damage hit into 32.
How to Craft
Craft it at a level 2 workbench from:
- 20x Linen Thread: Spun from flax at a spinning wheel.
- 1x Silver: Smelted from silver ore in a smelter.

When to Use It
Mid game. The Linen Thread is spun from Flax grown in the Plains, the biome after Moder, and the Silver comes from the Mountain.
Upgrades

Notes
- Most capes gain 1 armor per upgrade level, but the Ashen Cape, the Moose Hide Cape and the Cape of the Caller gain 2.
- A cape's armor counts toward your total armor rating along with your helmet, chest and leg pieces.
- A cape's frost resistance only stops Freezing while you are dry. Once you are Wet, it no longer protects you.
