The Mountain Tower is a large ruined Stone structure in the Mountain. It comes as a single square tower or as a walled fort, and the tower layout can hold a vegvisir that marks the nearest Moder altar.

Where to Find It

Mountain Towers stand at 150 metres of altitude or higher, at least 128 metres from other mountain ruins, on ground where the height varies by 6 to 40 metres, and they turn to follow the slope. A world holds up to 50 towers, up to 50 forts and up to 10 of a third layout, a fort that always has a chest. Any of them can spawn randomly damaged, so parts of the walls and towers may be missing.

What's Inside

The tower is a single square stone building that stands in 90% of these sites. When it does, it has a 70% chance of a Moder vegvisir (63% overall) and a 66% chance of a Mountains Chest on the ground floor (59.4% overall). There is also a 20.2% chance of a second Mountains Chest on the top floor (18.1% overall). Up to 2 Skeletons guard it.

The fort, also called the Draugr fort, is a central tower inside a larger wall with four corner towers. The central tower has a 50% chance to appear. When it does, it always holds a Mountains Chest, with up to 3 Skeletons beside it. Each corner tower has a 33% chance to stand and holds three Skeleton spawns at 33% each. Up to 4 more Skeletons guard the site, and an Evil Bone Pile has a 50% chance to appear. The third layout always has a Mountains Chest, a 50% chance of an Evil Bone Pile, and up to 19 Skeletons.
