Morvudd is a Fiend, one of the Relicts. This unusually large beast hunts in the castle ruins south of Rannvaig on Ard Skellig. It is the target of Contract: Missing Son in Skellige.
Lore
People say every journey in the Skellige Isles ends in adventure. Sometimes that adventure ends in death. A group of young Skelligers set out in search of treasure in forgotten ruins. The ruins turned out to lie in the hunting grounds of a powerful fiend known as Morvudd.
Morvudd killed the young warriors with little trouble. Odhen of Rannvaig's son, Olve, was among them. The witcher's verdict on its meals was short: it ate only the entrails, a fussy eater.
Behaviour
Morvudd stalks the old castle ruins and the land around them. It feeds on anyone who wanders into its hunting grounds. When a fight turns against it, the fiend runs back to its lair to hide.
Weaknesses
Coat the silver sword with Relict Oil. Bring Samum and Devil's Puffball bombs, both of which work well against it.
There is little room for error against Morvudd. A moment of carelessness lets the beast hypnotize its foe with its third eye. It then tears its helpless victim to shreds. Morvudd is a very large fiend, so quick, light attacks do little against it. Its blows can kill anyone not protected by heavy armor or the Quen Sign, so keep Quen up.
The fight happens twice. Once Morvudd has lost about two thirds of its health, it blinds its foe and flees. Track it to its lair and finish it there.
Morvudd Map Location and Quest Guide
- Take the contract from the notice board in Rannvaig, or talk to Odhen of Rannvaig.
- Ride south to the castle ruins and examine them with the Witcher Senses.
- Fight Morvudd until it blinds the witcher and flees.
- Follow its tracks with the Witcher Senses to find the fiend's lair.
- Kill the fiend and take a trophy from its body.
- Return to Odhen to collect the reward.

Morvudd is the target of Contract: Missing Son on Ard Skellig. The contract starts at the notice board in Rannvaig, with Odhen himself, or by stumbling on the fiend. Odhen's son Olve set off with friends to explore the castle ruins and never returned.
The castle ruins lie to the south. In the courtyard, a search with the Witcher Senses starts the first battle with Morvudd. The wounded fiend escapes, and its tracks lead to its lair, where it fights a second time. Olve's body lies nearby. Take a trophy from the fiend and return to Odhen for the reward.
