ARCH
Class Manufacturer

ARCH Motorcycle is a real-world maker of custom motorcycles, and in Night City it builds the Nazaré. Keanu Reeves, the actor behind Johnny Silverhand, founded the company together with the bike builder Gard Hollinger. The Nazaré is a long, low machine that mixes a cruiser with a racing bike. It sells at the upper end of the motorcycle market on the Autofixer netpage. Jackie Welles rides one through the main story, and the Tyger Claws ride them too.

History

ARCH is one of the few real companies in the world of the game, next to Porsche. The studio designed the Nazaré in partnership with ARCH. The starting point was the Method 143, a real ARCH cruiser, which the designers pushed further into the future. A behind-the-scenes video shows Reeves and Hollinger presenting the bike. The engine sound in the game was recorded from a real ARCH motorcycle, so every Nazaré in Night City roars like the real thing.

The in-game Database writes about the Nazaré in the voice of a biker. It pictures corpos stuck in slow, armoured limousines while a Nazaré roars past them in traffic. It wonders why those corpos keep sitting through quarterly report meetings when they could ride off into the sunset. The entry ends by calling the Nazaré a way of life rather than just a bike.

The Nazaré also carries weight in the story. Jackie dies in the main job The Heist, and his Nazaré stays behind. Mama Welles later hands its keys to V at Jackie's ofrenda. The Tyger Claws favour the Nazaré as well. One of their bosses, Josie, rides a customised one, and the side job The Highwayman ends with that bike in V's hands.

Vehicles

ARCH builds a single model line in Night City, the Nazaré. It is a heavy motorcycle with a long, low frame and a single-sided swingarm. Its shape and riding position come from a cruiser, while the engine and handling lean toward a racing bike. Like every motorcycle, it slips through traffic jams and tight gaps that stop a car. In return, the rider sits open to gunfire and crashes.

The standard Nazaré sells on the Autofixer netpage for €$ 71,000. Custom bikes sit beside it there, the Nazaré "Racer" for €$ 74,000 and the Nazaré "Kobold" for €$ 68,000. Other Nazaré bikes come from jobs rather than the shop. Jackie's ARCH is the reward of the main job Heroes, and the Nazaré "Itsumade" is the reward of The Highwayman. The "Itsumade" rides exactly like the standard Nazaré, so its value lies in its Tyger Claw paint and its story.

Notes

  • A Nomad V can pass a Technical Ability check during the main job The Pickup and give Jackie advice about his bike. Jackie's ARCH then arrives in a tuned form.
  • After The Highwayman, the Nazaré "Itsumade" waits in a garage near All Foods in Northside, behind the door code 0214. V can claim it at any time.
  • The Nazaré bikes are listed under ARCH on the Autofixer netpage, which sorts every vehicle by its maker.
