Both Sides, Now is the first side job of Judy Álvarez's storyline, after Double Life. Judy calls V urgently to her apartment in Kabuki, Watson, where Evelyn Parker has taken her own life. V helps Judy care for her friend, and on the roof Judy starts to piece together what happened to Evelyn in the days she was missing.
Story
No Good Deed
Johnny's journal entry is bitter: no good deed goes unpunished. Hold out a hand and get bitten, help a poor soul and get robbed, save someone's life, and fill in the blank.
After V sets up a meeting with the Voodoo Boys, Judy calls and asks V to come over as soon as possible. In her apartment, she calls V straight to the bathroom. Evelyn Parker, Judy's friend and V's former client, has killed herself in the bathtub. Judy was out at the time, and cannot forgive herself for leaving.
Evelyn
Judy wants to do things properly and calls the NCPD, then asks V to carry Evelyn's body to the bedroom. While V does, Judy argues with the police, who say they have no time to come. Afterwards, she asks V to leave the room while she takes care of her friend.
The Roof
Later, Judy and V sit on the roof of the building. Judy asks for a cigarette, which V takes from Evelyn's cigarette case. Judy tells V to keep the case. She has worked out that Fingers had Evelyn for some days, but Tom Caldera at Clouds says Evelyn went missing even longer before that. Unable to sleep, Judy dug deeper into the braindances she recovered, trying to learn what happened in the missing days. Unsure what to do next, she asks to be left alone for now, and promises to stay in touch.

Both Sides, Now map location:
- Answer Judy's call after Double Life.
- Go to Judy's apartment, on the third floor of a building west of the Charter Street fast travel point. Use the intercom.
- Talk to Judy in the bathroom.
- Lift up Evelyn, carry her to the bedroom and lay her on the bed.
- Wait for Judy to finish her call, then talk to her.
- Leave the bedroom and close the door.
- Talk to Judy on the roof. Ask about Woodman and Evelyn if desired.
- Leave the building.

Choices
V's answers to Judy change only the dialogue and do not affect her later jobs. Kind words suit the moment.
Rewards
Completing Both Sides, Now pays 578 experience and 866 Street Cred.
The job pays experience and Street Cred, and V keeps Evelyn's cigarette case.
Tips
If Judy does not call, finish the part of M'ap Tann Pèlen where V calls Mr. Hands. Judy then texts, and replying to ask how Evelyn is doing leads to her call.
