The Robot R Mk.2 is a combat robot used for protection. Corporations such as Arasaka, Militech, Kang Tao and Biotechnica buy or hire them, as do politicians and celebrities who do not want living guards.
Lore
The R Mk.2 is made for those who would rather not use live assets. The NCPD uses it on patrol, in both its regular forces and its Tactical Division, as part of Commissioner Jerry Fawlter's program to replace police officers with machines. Gangs such as Maelstrom and independent mercenary groups use it in combat too. Kerry Eurodyne is one of the celebrities who uses them.
Behaviour
An R Mk.2 is a machine, so quickhacks aimed at people work poorly on it. Hacks that shut down machines work better. In a group, the robots can follow a lead unit.
Jobs
In the gig Treating Symptoms, the Voodoo Boys in Dogtown fit old combat robots with stripped implants. V fights a group of R Mk.2s in a server room. Once the lead robot is down, the rest blow themselves up.
