The Colby "Little Mule" is a nomad pickup with mounted machine guns, and it is one of the cheapest armed cars on the Autofixer. Nomads take a plain Thorton Colby, fit a stronger engine and light armour, and give it a new name. The result is a tough, quick little truck that handles the desert as well as the city. Players pick it as an early armed car for car chases and for trips into the Badlands. The Little Mule is an Autofixer car that V can buy once V's Street Cred is high enough.
Performance
The Little Mule drives all four wheels, which keeps it steady on sand and loose ground. Its engine is strong for a truck of its size, and it feels quick both on the road and across open desert.
The truck carries two forward-facing machine guns. They fire straight ahead of the car, so V aims them by pointing the nose at the target. The guns reload on their own once the ammo runs out. Extra armour on the body helps the Little Mule take hits while V fights from behind the wheel.
How to Get Thorton Colby "Little Mule" Guide
- Raise V's Street Cred until the Little Mule appears for sale.
- Open the Autofixer netpage from an Autofixer terminal or a computer in one of V's apartments.
- Buy the Little Mule for €$ 41,000.

Lore
The Database says nomads never stay long in one place, so they need a truck that can carry their belongings. The truck-bed variant of the Colby became a favourite among them, and they call it Little Mule. Beyond the name, they swap the stock engine for a stronger one, add light armour to the body and fit a CrystalDome projection system in the cabin.
A CrystalDome replaces the window view with an environment projection. People outside cannot see who is inside, while the driver still sees the road.
Before the Autofixer existed, the fixer Dakota Smith sold the car to V. Her message told how a friend pulled it out of a ditch and rebuilt the suspension and engine for desert riding.
Notes
- The Little Mule is one of the base-game cars that came with mounted machine guns when vehicle combat arrived.
- The name likely nods to the black pickup called Little Mule in the film Romancing the Stone.
