Yorinobu Arasaka is the son of Saburo Arasaka, the head of the world's largest arms maker. Since his rebellious youth there has been friction between father and son, and he is known for his difficult character and his controversial views. He holds no important post in the company, yet he keeps calling for change inside it. On the night of the Konpeki heist, V and Jackie watch him kill his own father, and everything in the story follows from that moment.
Biography
The Rebel
Yorinobu grew up with his sister Hanako in the family compound near Tokyo, kept away from the darker side of his father's business. When he finished university, Saburo told him the truth about what Arasaka really does. Yorinobu was appalled. Soon after, he left the family and gathered a gang of Tokyo bikers called the Steel Dragons, sworn to expose Arasaka and bring it down. They harassed the corporation's staff and dug up its secret operations. His father loved him but saw him as a threat, and his elder half-brother swore to kill him. Hanako alone kept loving him, and the two met in secret in the net.
Return to the Family
After a long war between the corporations, Yorinobu came to his elder brother's funeral and asked his father for forgiveness. With Hanako's help he was taken back into the family. He came to believe that Arasaka could not be defeated from outside, only from within. He now leads the Taka, a faction of the company that stands against his father's old guard.
Konpeki Plaza
Yorinobu steals the Relic, a biochip project dear to his father, and hides it in his suite at Konpeki Plaza, partly as bait to draw Saburo out. His companion Evelyn Parker records a braindance of the suite, which sets the heist in motion. On the night of the heist, Saburo arrives in person. The two argue, and Yorinobu strangles his father. He then tells the guards that Saburo was poisoned and orders Takemura to find the killers, and Arasaka hunts V across the city.

Endings
In the Arasaka ending, Yorinobu's soldiers attack the board meeting where Hanako exposes him. V fights through the tower and finds him in the head office, a broken man who did not use the gun he held to his own head. He tells V that he wanted to finish what Johnny Silverhand started and destroy Arasaka from within. His mind is then overwritten by his father's engram, and Saburo lives on in his son's body.
In other endings he stays in power. After Alt Cunningham's attack on Arasaka Tower, he mourns Hanako and vows to find those responsible. In the Phantom Liberty ending with Solomon Reed, he crushes Hanako's coup and blames Takemura for her death.
