The Ash of War: Bloody Slash is an Ash of War in Elden Ring that grants the Blood affinity and the Bloody Slash skill. Players can grab it early, in Limgrave.
Bloody Slash is a Blood Oath skill in which the wielder drops into a low stance, coats the blade in their own blood and unleashes a rending arc of blood. The arc has very high base damage and builds up hemorrhage, and its power scales with Arcane and the weapon's upgrade level whatever the affinity. It reaches a little farther than a normal swing and grants heavy hyper armor during the attack. It suits Arcane bleed builds and is strong from the early game onward.
Stats
It grants the Blood affinity and a Whetblade can switch it to Standard, Heavy, Keen, Quality, Poison or Occult. The skill costs 6 FP. It fits Dagger, Throwing Blade, Straight Sword, Light Greatsword, Greatsword, Thrusting Sword, Heavy Thrusting Sword, Curved Sword, Curved Greatsword, Katana, Great Katana and Twinblade.

Skill
Each use costs a slice of HP, so it pairs well with spare Crimson Tears charges or HP regeneration. The arc does not use the weapon's own hitbox, so standing at point-blank range adds no extra damage. Weapon buffs do not boost the arc's damage or build-up, but general attack boosts such as Golden Vow do.
