The Mass of Putrescence is a Death sorcery in Elden Ring. It is one of the expansion's additions, found in the Land of Shadow.
Mass of Putrescence is a death sorcery born from the putrid liquor of the stone coffins, recalling an age when Death was burned by ghostflame and even tainted flesh was given equal treatment in death. It flings a great mass of putrescence that passes through enemies and explodes into ghostflame shortly after landing, dealing magic damage and heavy frostbite buildup over the area. Charging greatly widens the ghostflame burst and raises both damage and frostbite. The cast is long and shares its animation with Cannon of Haima, and despite being a death sorcery it gains nothing from the Prince of Death's Staff, so it works best aimed at the ground near a target. It suits intelligence builds that want a long-range area attack with built-in frostbite.
Effect
Flings a great mass of putrescence that bursts into ghostflame where it lands, dealing magic damage and building up frostbite; charging increases damage. Each cast costs 41 FP and 42 stamina and takes up one memory slot.

Found on a corpse in the Stone Coffin Fissure by dropping to a lower ledge near the Fissure Waypoint Site of Grace.
