The Night Shard is a Night sorcery in Elden Ring. It is picked up mid-game, in Caelid.
Night Shard is one of the night sorceries of Sellia, whose sorcerers were assassins said to hunt their own kind. It swiftly fires a small semi-invisible projectile that enemies never try to dodge, and it comes out without delay after running, jumping, rolling or attacking. It deals little damage on its own and has slightly shorter range than Glintstone Pebble, but it cannot be dispelled or deflected and the Staff of Loss boosts it, which makes it a handy tool against evasive bosses such as Malenia. In PvP most casters prefer Swift Glintstone Shard for its higher damage and efficiency, so Night Shard suits night sorcery builds that value guaranteed, quick hits over raw power.
Effect
Swiftly fires a small semi invisible projectile that enemies do not try to dodge; it can be cast without delay after running, jumping, rolling or attacking. Each cast costs 7 FP and 9 stamina and takes up one memory slot.
How to Get Night Shard Guide
Night Shard is sold by Sage Gowry for 4,000 runes once Millicent has received the repaired Unalloyed Gold Needle. If Gowry dies, the Twin Maiden Husks at the Roundtable Hold sell it for the same price once given Gowry's Bell Bearing.
- Talk to Sage Gowry at Gowry's Shack in Caelid and accept his request.
- Defeat Commander O'Neil in the Swamp of Aeonia to obtain the Unalloyed Gold Needle.
- Give the needle to Gowry, then reload the area and talk to him again to receive the repaired needle.
- Give the repaired Unalloyed Gold Needle to Millicent at the Church of the Plague.
- Return to Gowry and buy Night Shard for 4,000 runes.
