The Fang Spear takes four teeth from the wolves of the Mountain and silver dug from under the same snow, and its secondary attack sends it flying. It deals 75 pierce damage. At 75 total damage it ranks 6th among spears, so it is a step on the ladder, not the top of it. Pierce damage hurts the Troll more than most things, and that is what you carry it for.
How to Craft
You craft it at a level 3 forge from:
- 10x Ancient Bark: Chop it from ancient trees in the Swamp.
- 4x Wolf Fang: Wolves, fenrings and ulvs in the Mountain drop it.
- 2x Leather Scraps: Boars and bats drop them, and you can dig them out of muddy scrap piles.
- 2x Silver: Smelt it from silver ore in a smelter.
| Name | Image | Biome | Crafting Station | Spawn ID |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ancient Bark | Swamp | - | spawn ElderBark

| Wolf Fang | Mountain | - | spawn WolfFang

| Leather Scraps | Meadows | - | spawn LeatherScraps

| Silver | Mountain | Smelter | spawn Silver
|
When to Use It
This is mid game gear. Silver lies under the Mountain snow and you need a Wishbone to find it, so this spear comes after Bonemass.
Upgrades
You can upgrade it 3 times after crafting, and each level needs the station built one step higher than the last. The base stats are for quality 1, so this is the ladder your own copy is somewhere on:
| Quality | Crafting Station | Pierce | Durability | Resources |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Forge (Level 3) | 75 | 100 |
|
| 2 | Forge (Level 4) | 81 | 150 |
|
| 3 | Forge (Level 5) | 87 | 200 |
|
| 4 | Forge (Level 6) | 93 | 250 |
|
Properties
It deals 75 pierce and is cheap for its tier. It takes less silver than the other silver weapons, which matters when you have to dig silver out from under Mountain snow with a Wishbone.
The secondary attack throws it for 1.5x damage, and you get it back. The whole cycle, pick-up included, takes about a second. A thrown spear floats, so one aimed at a Serpent from a boat can be recovered instead of being lost to the sea.
Notes
- The throw's 1.04 seconds include picking the spear back up, so the listed speed covers the whole cycle, not just the release.
- Thrown spears float, so you can recover one thrown at a Serpent instead of losing it to the sea.
- The primary attack moves you forward 0.33 m, the least of any melee class, so it does not walk you into a second enemy.
