The Infested Citadel is the lair of The Queen, an enclosed arena behind a locked dvergr vault door in the Mistlands. She is already inside and awake when the door opens.
Where to Find It
Up to five citadels generate in a world, each at least 2,048 m from the next, on solid Mistlands ground between 1 and 20 m of altitude. They are among the first locations placed when a world is made. From outside, a citadel is a large, battered Black Marble building tucked under a big rock, with four Seekers on its roof. A staircase climbs to a doorway in the rock face, sealed by the Dvergr vault: a heavy door carved with runes and fitted with a lock that the Sealbreaker opens. You find Vegvisirs for The Queen in Infested Mines.
What's Inside
Next to the outer staircase is a damaged Wood Wall you can break or take down to reach a lower floor of small rooms with Dvergr furniture. One room has a chair, table, shelf and Dvergr Lantern, another has a single table, and the middle room has a lantern, a stool and three Dvergr Barrels. Blue Jute Curtains and Blue Jute Drapes hang on the outside walls and break for Blue Jute. Past the vault door is one huge chamber, with infested pillars and staircases crossing up to the top floor, where the Hive seat, the Forsaken altar, stands. Clusters of brood eggs around the floors hatch Seeker Broods, and trigger spawners on the ground floor and balcony release Seekers and Seeker Broods. Once The Queen is dead, you can bring her back by placing three Seeker Soldier Trophies on the Hive seat. She appears at one of four points: two on the top floor and one on each of the two corner landings below. The small roofed alcove around the entrance is out of reach of her attacks, though the creatures she calls can still get there.
